Johnny Vagabond has recently turned 39 “for the fourth time”.
He decided to take advantage of the situation and travel the world like he’s always dreamed.
He’ll be visiting the developing world, mostly — taking his time and trying to be as flexible as possible. He’s traveled through India, Europe, and the American West extensively, but this will be his first true around-the-world adventure.
“My plan is to buy a one-way ticket to Thailand and plot the rest of the trip from there,” he says. “I’ll visit SE Asia, the Indian Subcontinent, Egypt, South America, and Central America.”
Mr. Vagabond takes off in March of 2010, he’ll be traveling cheap, sharing tips and taking pics.
He’s just getting started but his first vagabonding tip is a gooder: Take off your pants when using a squatter toilet.
Also, don’t miss his trimmed down and practical interactive gear list. I believe we can all learn to pare down from his example.

Hello,
My name is Emma Murray and I’m a journalism student from Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa. I think it’s awesome that you live the vagabond lifestyle! I envy you! I just wanted to contact you because I’m looking to do my senior project on vagabond lifestyles and figured it’d be helpful to get info straight from actual vagabonds. So any info on your experiences would be greatly appreciated and hopefully one day, I too can live that same dreamy lifestyle!
I was just wondering…along with our project we’re allowed to invite guest speakers, would you or anyone you know (that’s a vagabond) like to make a trip Council Bluffs, Iowa by early April? I’m trying to find someone who’d document their trip and do a presentation of their journey for the senior class.
I think the students and the teacher would really appreciate getting to meet someone living this lifestyle and discussing it with them. I know I’d love it! Well, just let me know, I know it’s a hefty request. If there are fellow vagabonds you know that would like this this idea/opportunity, could send me their contact info?
Thanks,
Emma Murray
