What a funny guy.
I laughed out loud when I started reading this one.
Touted as “The world’s most entertaining travel site” and it might not even be a lie this time.
“The Freedonia Post is intended to be entertaining first, informative second,” Joel Ward says.
“It’s meant to show off what I consider the most important part of travel – the fun! So it’s usually silly, often random and always a skewed view of the world from a card carrying goofball.”
After working in the tourism industry for 20 years, Joel decided to spend more time in his chosen destinations than a “two day sit and spin”.
He wants to see the world in a deeper, more meaningful way by settling into a place weeks or months at a time.
His site is focused on the people, the customs and the strangeness of other cultures.
“Let’s face it, things that people do in foreign countries are just plain weird,” he continues.
“Of course, being a scatter-brained American in unfamiliar territory means I’m the one in the comedic targets more often than not.”

Thanks for all the kind words! I can’t wait to actually get back on the road to dive in a bit more deeply.
And “The world’s most entertaining travel site” isn’t a lie! It’s a goal. If I had said I was 99 44/100% pure, THAT would have been a lie.
